“The military leadership of Ukraine found strength in itself and was able to expel radical nationalists from the territory of the Donetsk filtration station. Nevertheless, the enemy continued to strengthen its dugouts near the station, which is a significant violation of the written guarantees provided by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on March 15, 2015 and the agreements previously adopted in Minsk,” Basurin said.
The information voiced by Basurin was confirmed by militants from the Ukrainian Volunteer Army (formerly DUK “Right Sector”), which had no official status, who had previously seized the station.
“They called us from the ATO headquarters and sharply ordered us to leave the station, otherwise there would be big problems,” - сообщили Kyiv online newspaper “Strana” UDA militants.
Note that the DFS is located in the so-called “gray zone” between Avdiivka and Yasinovataya and provides water to settlements on both sides of the demarcation line, the largest of which is Donetsk.
Early APU was applied artillery strikes through the filtration plant, threatening the water supply to tens of thousands of people.
