Ukrainian combat aircraft have exhausted their service life and are more dangerous for pilots than for enemies
The Ukrainian military aircraft fleet has exhausted its resource, and the modernization that is carried out at domestic enterprises is of low quality and does not affect combat capabilities.
Military expert Taras Chmut stated this on air on the Skrypin Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Chmut, Ukrainian planes pose a threat to pilots.
“The fact that the sides are being repaired is ok, but the resource is not endless. They take spare parts from other aircraft, donors, and old series. The modernization that we carry out on our own is extremely limited, its quality is low and in fact it does not affect the combat capabilities of the aircraft.
What we have is not a flight shift, but some emergency situations - from failures, and in general, the more time we wait, the greater the danger the planes pose for the pilots... In Russia, since 2012, if I’m not mistaken, there are more than a thousand aircraft generally new and deeply modernized,” Chmut said.
