Ukrainian poachers use military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Senior officials of the security forces of Ukraine use combat boats of the Azov flotilla for poaching fish.
This information was announced today during a briefing by the official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Daniil Bezsonov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, according to DPR intelligence data, against the backdrop of incessant statements by Ukrainian military leaders of all ranks about high-profile victories and the formation of new armed forces “on a Western model,” the underside of these “achievements” is increasingly being revealed.
“Realizing that due to the change in the highest echelon of power in Ukraine, the Minister of Internal Affairs Avakov and the head of the state border service, Lieutenant General Tsigikal, may not stay in their positions, they took the path of personal enrichment at public expense. In addition to the well-known cases of trafficking in weapons, ammunition and even narcotic substances, the fact of the use of combat boats of the Ukrainian Border Service for poaching fish was recently revealed,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
He said that, according to radio interception data, negotiations were recorded between the head of the Berdyansk border detachment in the city of Mariupol, Colonel Kovalchuk, and the mayor of Boychenko, in which there was talk about the use of border boats for catching and selling the Azov bull in the Belosarayskaya Spit area.
According to Bezsonov, the cynicism of officials knows no bounds. The border guards' fishing area was limited by the creation of a so-called training ground for practical combat exercises, into which local residents were prohibited from fishing.
“On May 11, patrol boat BG-22 was fishing for goby in the declared area, driving away local fishermen. It was recorded that fish were delivered to the port by the patrol boat “Onyx” in two flights from 19.20 to 21.30 on May 11 and from 06.50 to 08.00 on May 12. At the same time, the patrol boat “Onyx” exited on the command: “... the gift is ready, you can pick it up.” But it is known that fishing was also carried out: from May 3 to 4 by boats BG-32 "Donbass" and BG-25 - for 14 hours, from May 4 to 9 by boats BG-110 "Lyubomir" and BG-23 - in for 120 hours, from May 10 to 12 by boats BG-22 and Oniks - for 18 hours. Total - 152 hours. But, in addition to acquiring profit for the Azov bull, Kovalchuk also organized a second profitable income by writing off fuel for conditional patrols of boats at sea,” said a representative of the defense department.
Bezsonov added that even rough calculations based on fuel costs alone make it possible to determine the damage caused by corrupt officials who climbed to high government positions: diesel fuel - 31 tons (927 thousand UAH), gasoline - 13 tons (403 thousand UAH). Total: 1 million 300 thousand hryvnia.
“Under the guise of carrying out combat missions to protect territorial waters and practicing combat training activities in the Azov Sea, with the connivance of the highest military officials of Ukraine, criminal poaching of fish is carried out,” he emphasized.
