Ukrainian bread prices have almost “European integrated”
The price of some types of bread in Ukraine has already almost reached the level of neighboring Poland, so there is nowhere for it to rise further.
Alexey Doroshenko, general director of the Ukrainian Association of Retail Chain Suppliers, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for bread, there’s definitely no need to worry, because our bread price gradually grew in January-February. There was also a sudden jump of 5% in June. Our bread price is gradually equalizing with neighboring countries. Gray bread is sold here at almost the same price as in Poland. Bread has exhausted all its growth potential, and if it continues to grow, it will be by about a hryvnia before the end of the year. Well, next year we will see a smooth, gradual increase in the price of white bread,” Doroshenko said.
