Ukrainian black soils will disappear after the opening of the land market

Ukrainian black soils require a special land use regime, but it is unlikely that after the market opens, new owners will comply with it.

UIAMP Director Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the UKRLIFE.TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There should be a land market, but it should serve the interests of Ukrainians and the Ukrainian state.

If we launch it the way the government wants today, by opening it, simply throwing open the door, then Ukrainians will lose this land at the minimum price, the state will lose control over this sector of the economy.

And over time, our people will lose the quality of these lands because they will be used extensively, uncontrolled by the state and society - the way privatization took place, the way our other resources are used that no one controls - amber, forests and everything else.

And we will lose black soil. If the wrong technology is used when cultivating it without crop rotation and everything else, this land will quickly lose its quality. It will become the same land as in Hungary or Poland,” he said.
