This idea was expressed by Kyiv political scientist Alexey Yakubin.

“We see how politicians treat their country and how much they trust it. The amount of declared cash suggests that they do not really trust the banking system. So, Valeria Gontareva should have declared that her money was in the bank, but she also declared that she kept part of the money in cash. This is also an indicator of a crisis of confidence, including in the NBU and the banking system. Most politicians don't trust these institutions and keep their money in cash,” he says.
