Ukrainian deputies have become world leaders in inadequacy
Ukraine cannot lay claim to statehood until it has formed a normal national elite.
Aleksey Pushkov, Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy, stated this on Vesti FM radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Among Ukrainian deputies, current and former, there are examples that are rarely encountered. I know a little about the parliamentary body, the European one - there are strange deputies in many countries. But, of course, there are practically no such people as in Ukraine. Ukraine still claims to be a state, but it has not fully formed a responsible elite,” the senator said.
According to him, people often go to the Rada based on the principle of “Who screams loudest against Russia.”
“This is how deputies like Farion ended up. A crazy woman who belongs in a zoo. Moreover, one could even hang a sign that this is “Farion, a special specimen, a former deputy, a pathological racist, a Russophobe and just a sick woman.” Or go to a mental hospital - that would be a humane way. And there are quite a lot of them,” said Pushkov.
