Ukrainian paratroopers distinguished themselves at NATO exercises in Britain
The air assault troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces took part in the multinational competition “Cambrian Patrol” (Great Britain) and won silver, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press center of the Ministry of Defense.
“Over the course of the week, 127 teams from 27 countries demonstrated their skills in completing an 80-kilometer march and performing various combat missions. Ukrainian paratroopers were ahead of 13 teams, 8 of which subsequently dropped out of the race,” informs the Ministry of Defense.
Together with the Ukrainians, units from Belarus, Moldova and Hungary took part in the march.
As noted in the message, the Ukrainian team became the second; silver medals were presented to them by the commander of the 160th Infantry Brigade of the British Ground Forces.
It is reported that each paratrooper carried two backpacks weighing a total of 41 kilograms, weapons, double ammunition and a radio station with 4 batteries. In addition, the distance was increased from 80 to 95 kilometers and the use of navigation devices was prohibited.
It is noted that the Cambrian Patrol competition has been held since 1959. Every year more and more international participants are attracted to its participation. The international Cambrian Patrol competition is considered one of the most difficult in Europe.
