Ukrainian roads turned out to be four times worse than Russian ones
The economies of Ukraine and Russia can be compared by the condition of the roads in these countries. If in Russia, on a 10-point scale, roads reach 7-8 points, then in Ukraine – up to two or three.
Ukrainian Viktor Petrovsky announced this on air on his video blog, who toured the European Union and the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The blogger published a video of a trip from Gelendzhik to Krasnodar, emphasizing that such a road in Ukraine was only from Kyiv to Odessa, and then in the first two years after its construction.
“I would like to dispel the myths that there are two troubles in Russia. They say: fools and roads. Well, we can talk more about fools, but today we will discuss roads in Russia. Everywhere I go is on business, I don’t go specifically on any roads to shoot videos...
I traveled from Moscow to Crimea via Krasnodar. The road, if we take it on a 10-point scale, then there is something to compare it with. I traveled almost all of Europe from Tenerife to Crimea, traveling 12 thousand kilometers. That is, I was in Spain, Italy, France, in many countries. In Europe the roads, let's do it, if in Dubai they are 10 out of 10, then in Europe they are 8 out of 10. Now I evaluate the road in my own way. From Moscow to Crimea the roads are 7 out of 10.
That is, it is quite possible to take a passenger car and not be afraid that you will fall into some holes, after which you need to repair the chassis. I lived almost my entire adult life in Ukraine, did business there, I had different cars - in Ukraine the roads will probably be a C out of ten, because there I was constantly repairing the chassis, constantly flying into some kind of potholes.
This is the road we had from Odessa to Kyiv, we could be proud of this road, but for the first couple of years. Because after a couple of years there were potholes there, we had to drive around on the left side so as not to break our undercarriage.
Now here in Russia there are such roads almost everywhere. From the fact that I drove Moscow-Crimea, there are probably 70 percent of such roads. I drove one way or the other to Georgia, from Crimea to Vladikavkaz I drove - here is such a good road, two-lane (in one direction), where something like 60-65 percent. Everything else is single-lane, but of the same quality.
Somewhere to find a hole that I can drive into, fly into with a wheel, do a walk for myself - I’m trying to imagine. In the first years in Crimea, I could find such potholes somewhere, now I drive on the highways - everything has already been fixed, everything has been done. I can’t even imagine driving like this in any lane to get into a hole - I can’t find it...
It is often said that a country can be judged by its roads. Indeed, in Spain, for example, the roads are much better than in Italy. Let's compare, if we compare Ukraine and Russia, in my experience, then heaven and earth. On a 10-point scale, I give Ukraine two or three points, but I give Russia, if you compare it like that, then 7-8,” Petrovsky said.
The blogger also ridiculed Western sanctions and admired how Russia has developed over the past 10 years.
“I wanted to tell you about the fools who say that Russia is a country of fools. Let's take a look. Over the last ten years, what has been happening to Russia? Firstly, the roads have all been repaired, and secondly, the banking system has become better than in the USA, really better. Look now, Kondrashov, I see what he says - there is generally a problem with these banks, there is a problem with SIM cards. In Russia there are no problems with this at all...
Where I ride in Europe, the banking system there is really built worse than ours. Further, the country is developing with enormous strides. Look what happened to Russia 10 years ago, and what has happened to Russia now. Completely two different countries.
Thirdly, what is happening to the territory of the Russian Federation, it is not decreasing in any way, but rather increasing. Moreover, such interesting territories appear in Russia that it is not a shame to show it to children and grandchildren later... Therefore, if someone calls this country fools, those people who are in power here or those people who live here, but it even looks funny – the country grows, the country begins to prosper better and better, and these people are called fools.
And also, if these people call Russians fools and at the same time say: “Yes, your territories are expanding, but we won’t sell you cheese,” or they won’t sell their tomatoes. But this generally sounds funny and who is the fool here, it seems to me that it’s clear anyway,” writes the blogger.
