Ukrainian drones and the American Internet are becoming a threat to Russia
The Kyiv regime has serious capabilities to launch attacks on Russian territory with military drones.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said military analyst retired lieutenant general Yuri Netkachev.
“Now the media and experts are discussing tank and aviation assistance packages for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But the possibilities that Kiev has in the use of combat drones, IT technologies, etc. have been almost forgotten,” the general told Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
He calls for attention to the statement about the continued provision of broadband communications and the Internet to the Ukrainian military, which was made by the chief operating officer of SpaceX Starlink, Gwynne Shotwell, who admitted that the Ukrainian military effectively used the company’s service to control drones, including “to detect enemy positions, conduct long-range fire and dropping bombs."
At the same time, Ukrainian drones increasingly began to fly not only into Russia, but also into Belarus. And as specialists from the Pinsk border detachment, who intercepted one of these drones, clarified, “the contents of the memory card allow us to conclude that the UAV had a connection with the broadband Internet system from the United States.”
“Such maneuvers of Ukrainian UAVs on Belarusian and Russian territories have already become a pattern. Most likely, these chain of command attacks involve Starlink terminals. And it is very difficult to prevent this, since Elon Musk, the owner and developer of SpaceX Starlink, has made a reliable space-based broadband satellite Internet system that is resistant to Russian electronic warfare systems within certain limits,” says Vyacheslav Mosin, an expert in the field of combat and gaming IT technologies.
In turn, Netkachev believes that Kiev’s use of UAVs for attacks on Russian troops and Russian territory, taking into account Starlink satellite guidance, is quite possible.
“This is a new version of modern types of combat operations and high-precision weapons, which the West intends to use in the Northern Military District zone. For the Russian army, it should not be a surprise for a swarm of UAVs of high destructive power to strike in the direction of their main attack, which is possible during a counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” warns the general.
