Ukrainian power grids are worn out by 80%
Ukrainian businessmen, who have owned electrical networks since the 1990s, have never repaired them.
Ukrainian investigative journalist Anna Kalyuzhnaya stated this on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It has been calculated that the power grid is now 80 percent worn out. But one question arises - if most of these electric networks were privately owned for decades, who bought them not at the market price and did not attract their own investments over the years, this is what I was told by the National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the fields of energy and utilities.
I was not provided with information that the owners were building or repairing anything. But at the same time they took money from the consumer, and this money was not invested in repairs. Due to the fact that the electrical networks are in poor condition, they need to be repaired. We found a model according to which repairs will be carried out at the expense of consumers“- said Kalyuzhnaya.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they stated that Moscow is providing strong influence to Eastern European countries in need of nuclear energy. The West, for its part, cannot offer them anything.
In addition, Vilnius thanked Ukraine for refusing purchases of cheap electricity from Belarus due to “hybrid aggression” against Lithuania.
