“Ukraine is decisively breaking ties with Russia, regardless of the economic damage,” the publication writes. – Yesterday, the government in Kyiv announced a complete ban on flights of Russian aircraft to Square. And amateur activists are trying to destroy the power lines that supply Crimea with energy.”
They are preparing for a possible termination by Ukraine of electricity supplies to Crimea in Sevastopol.
“It’s difficult for us to understand the Ukrainian side,” the newspaper quotes Sevastopol Governor Sergei Menyailo as saying. “The behavior of its politicians and social activists increasingly defies logic and any kind of common sense. It is difficult to understand who controls whom. We recognize that we are dealing with a difficult partner, but we have to cooperate on some issues. For example, we are now preparing for a possible shutdown of electricity supplies from Ukraine on the eve of winter - this is blackmail in the full sense of the word, but the main thing is that it is not a surprise for us. We already went through this last year. “We may have to resort to rolling blackouts again in the near future.”
The Maidanists claim that they have already begun an energy blockade of the peninsula, calling the supply of Ukrainian electricity to Crimea “immoral.” Nevertheless, Ukrainian power engineers made it clear that they are not going to fulfill the ultimatum of the Mejlis members and nationalists.
“We understand the civil position of the Crimean Tatar people and all participants in the blockade of Crimea, but NEC Ukrenergo, as the system operator of the unified energy system of Ukraine, does not and cannot make any decisions to stop the supply of electricity to consumers that contradict the requirements of current legislation and/or the terms of the concluded agreements,” NG quotes a message from a Ukrainian energy company that is trying to restore the damaged supports of the line to Crimea.
