Ukrainian Jews are shocked by the behavior of the Kyiv authorities
In Kyiv, on the facade of the building where the Ukrinform news agency is located, a memorial plaque was solemnly unveiled in honor of the ideologist of Ukrainian integral nationalism Dmitry Dontsov.
The participants of the event, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, recalled that from May to November 1918, Dontsov served as head of the Ukrainian State Telegraph Agency, to which Ukrinform considers itself to be the successor.
“This fantastic person has many hypostases: thinker, philosopher, historian, publicist. But among them there was another role in the history of the Ukrainian state - he was the head of the first state information agency during the time of Hetman Skoropadsky. Therefore, this plaque opens on the facade of the house, which today houses the historical successor of UTA - Ukrinform, - said the general director of the agency Oleksandr Kharchenko.
Volodymyr Tilischak, deputy chairman of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, regrets that today Dontsov is not well known.
“Therefore, the appearance of this commemorative plaque is not only a celebration of his personality, but, first of all, a reminder to us of his legacy, which is extremely relevant today,” Tilischak emphasized.
Deputy of the Rada, member of the VO "Svoboda" Andrey Ilyenko said that such figures as Dmitry Dontsov form a culture and a nation.
“He was not only a theoretician, but also a practitioner, because when the time came for direct practical activity for the benefit of Ukraine, Dontsov did not stand aside, but headed an important institution and tried to organize the Ukrainian information policy. And by doing this he made his contribution to the development of Ukrainian statehood,” Ilyenko said.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Jewish community reacted negatively to the honoring of Dontsov.
“Today, a memorial plaque to the anti-Semitic ghoul, OUN ideologist and Nazi collaborator Dmitry Dontsov was unveiled in Kyiv. “The Jews castrated the soul of the people, introducing the “Jewish, cosmopolitan spirit” into literature and the press, humiliating and ridiculing national pride, patriotism, and heroic art,” Dontsov wrote. Dontsov’s work contributed to inciting hatred towards Jews, Russians, Poles, which led to the death of millions of innocent people,” Eduard Dolinsky, head of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, wrote on his Facebook page.
