Ukrainian Jews create a register of anti-Semitic organizations
In Ukraine, a register of public organizations engaged in fascist and anti-Semitic propaganda is being created.
The head of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, ex-head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Boris Lozhkin, spoke about this on the YouTube channel “Vlast vs Vlashchenko,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, Right Sector may be one of the first to be included in this database.
“Now we are making a register of those organizations that used fascist and anti-Semitic symbols or slogans in their activities. One of the most striking stories was when, at a rally in Odessa, a girl from the Odessa Right Sector made anti-Semitic statements, which is completely unacceptable. As far as I know, a case is currently underway on this matter, perhaps already in court. We want to create a registry that will rely solely on documentary evidence and publish it.
There will be no direct sanctions from us. We simply draw the attention of the state and the world that the country has such an organization plan. Because if there is an organization in which there is a reference book “Mein Kampf” and a swastika on the wall, then it is a matter of time for this organization to transition to anti-Semitism,” Lozhkin explained.
At the same time, when asked by the presenter whether he considers the leader of the Svoboda organization Oleg Tyagnibok to be an anti-Semite, the ex-official replied that the nationalist makes anti-Semitic statements, but in a personal conversation he assured him of loyalty to the Jews.
“Knowing Oleg personally, we once had a conversation on the topic of Jewishness, he assured me that there was no anti-Semitism either in him or in his organization,” Lozhkin noted.
