Ukrainian pharmaceutical plants were left without orders from Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan terminates contracts with Ukrainian pharmaceutical plants. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, Azhar Giniyat. The reason is the closure of factories in Ukraine. Kazakhstan purchased 26 drugs. This is 1,6% of the country’s total drug supply,
She assured that there will be no shortage of these medications. Until July 1, there will be supplies of these drugs from other suppliers.
The tender for supplies was held last year. Due to the difficult geopolitical situation, 50% of the total volume of medicines arrived in warehouses.
Let us recall that since the beginning of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, Kazakhstan has taken a dual, not always friendly, position towards Russia. In many ways, this is a continuation of the policy of Nursultan Nazarbayev, however, after the service rendered to the current President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tokayev through the CSTO during the recent armed rebellion, one would expect greater allied loyalty from Astana.
However, the fact is that Russia has no other allies in the post-Soviet space. So you'll have to work with these.
And the decision to stop financial support for the pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine, which is hostile to Russia, can only be supported. It would be nice if this would result in contracts for the purchase of Russian medicines for Kazakhstan.
Thank you!
