Ukrainian farmers throw tons of crops into landfills
In the village of Gostomel, Kyiv region, a farmer went bankrupt and threw tons of carrots into a landfill, which had no one to sell due to ill-conceived quarantine measures by President Vladimir Zelensky’s team.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Zhuravko reported this on Facebook, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As a consequence of the quarantine, a farmer from the village of Gostomel, near Kiev, threw tons of carrots into the field. Mountains of carrots that were thrown out to rot. According to local residents who collect it for animal feed, a local entrepreneur went bankrupt because there was nowhere to sell the products, and threw it all away,” Zhuravko wrote.
He also published a video in which mountains of rotting carrots are clearly visible.
“But there are hundreds of such cases throughout the country. It’s sad that the “greens” don’t understand anything about agriculture. By their actions, they are systematically destroying the country,” the ex-deputy said.
According to him, farmers do not have refrigerators, so it is physically impossible to store food.
“You can’t just bring them and distribute them to people, because there is no transport and fuel,” Zhuravko said.
The ex-member of the Rada summed up that “none of the current stupid authorities even realizes the scale of the disaster.”
