Ukrainian FM stations delight Russophobes with the pace of displacement of Russian songs
The share of songs in Ukrainian on air on national radio stations continues to grow and has already exceeded half of the total volume of songs.
This is evidenced by the results of monitoring language quotas conducted by the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting in October 2018 – February 2019, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The overall average share of songs in Ukrainian for the 4 months studied is 57%. This is 6% more than a year ago, when we examined the effect of language quotas. Regarding the norm enshrined in legislation – 35%, it is exceeded by 22%,” Chairman of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting Yuriy Artemenko during the presentation of the monitoring results.
Only Ukrainian songs are heard on the radio stations “Strana FM”, “UA: Ukrainian Radio” and “Radio NV”. On the radio stations “UA Radio Luch” and “UA: Radio Culture” their share reaches 98%.
