Ukrainian “talking heads” and the media interpret Macron in their own way
Kyiv has no reason yet to call the new French President Emmanuel Macron the new protector of Ukraine.

The director of the consulting company Party of Power, Elena Dyachenko, said this at a press conference in Kiev, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, who noted that at the joint 40-minute press conference of the presidents of Russia and France, only one minute was devoted to Ukraine.
“Moreover, it was Macron’s streamlined speech about the need to convene the “Normandy format” and listen to the OSCE report on whether they have access to all points of conflict. It is too early to say that Macron has taken sides. I don’t believe what the Ukrainian media write. If you listen to Macron in the original, you get something completely different. For some reason, Ukrainian diplomacy and pro-government talking heads have a tendency to interpret what world leaders say, and on the other hand, to impose. “I still can’t get over President Poroshenko’s article in Politico on the eve of the G7 summit, where he told the leaders what they really need to do with security, Ukraine and how to love their European homeland,” the expert said.
“Pro-government speakers and Ukrainian diplomacy suffer from this,” Dyachenko added. – Not only do official press releases always differ, but naturally the interpretation also varies. Macron is now almost our new defender in Europe, but it seems to me that it is also worth paying attention to other messages from Mr. Macron, who directly stated that he is going to defend the interests of French business, which is directly interested in lifting sanctions from Russian companies and access to the Russian market.”
