Ukrainian “cyborgs” were offended by Apple advertising
Ukrainian “cyborgs” recorded a video message to the American company Apple with a request to understand the “mistake of their intentions” and correct the advertisement, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. The fact is that in the United States, during the presentation of the new Apple Watch Series 3, the company showed advertising videos with stories of people from all over the world. One of them showed the story of a “cyborg from Russia.”

One of the videos about the watch featured the Russian presenter of Match TV with a prosthetic leg, Dmitry Ignatov, who called himself a “cyborg from Russia.”
Ignatov appeared several times in the video and read out in Russian his part of the letter addressed to the corporation’s CEO Tim Cook. The letter begins with the words: “A cyborg from Russia is writing to you.”
Ukrainian “cyborgs” begin with the words “Dear Apple. I am a Ukrainian cyborg. I know you will watch this video. But I'm not sure you know why your ad insults me and my country. I hope that after you hear my story, you will realize the error of your ways.”
“In 2014, the Russian army invaded the territory of Ukraine. And I went to defend my country. They called me a cyborg because I stayed alive for so long that they couldn't believe it. I fought every day and every night because the whole country was behind me. I couldn't use my Apple watch to send an SOS because I was the only one who could save myself. I didn't count the circles because the world itself was spinning around me. I didn't track my sleep hours because I don't even remember if I actually slept there. We defended the Donetsk airport for 242 days until its walls fell. Since the invasion, more than 10 thousand Ukrainians have been killed as a result of Russian aggression. Today I'm alive. I'm training. I will defend our freedom for the rest of my life. While my country is illegally occupied and parts of it annexed by the Russian Federation, our people continue to die, are tortured, are kidnapped, your company is consciously or unconsciously interacting with the Russian Federation in its propaganda war against us. This is due to the presentation of a “Russian cyborg,” the Ukrainian military says in the video.
