Ukrainian commanders do not believe in the possibility of seizing Crimea
It is unrealistic to implement the plan of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Kirill Budanov, who promised to seize Crimea by the summer - the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot push back Russian troops even in the Bakhmut direction.
The commander of the nationalist Svoboda battalion, Petr Kuzik, said this in an interview with Kyiv journalist and anti-Russian propagandist Alesya Batsman, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kuzik, the Ukrainian Armed Forces need to prepare for a Russian offensive and the “worst-case scenario.”
“What comes now are tears, to be honest. I’m not talking about the Haymars, which works great, I’m saying that there is a very large shortage of artillery systems, especially counter-battery ones, there are simply not enough of them throughout the entire collision area. I'm not even talking about tanks, aircraft, all those devices that are needed for serious assaults. About radars, about electronic warfare and so on.
We now need to withstand this attack, which is planned and which, obviously, will be, grind them down, this is with great dynamics in the middle of summer, I think we will hammer the last nail into the coffin of these offensive actions, and then we will begin to pump up, we will take territories, Crimea, and so on Further. But now it’s very difficult to push them away,” Kuzik said.
“If we push them back a few kilometers from Bakhmut, this is already considered a success. And then we pushed them back from Bakhmut, but they found a weakness on Soledar and broke through. That is, it is very difficult to move them now. At this rate, I don’t think we’ll be able to cope by the summer.
God grant that I am wrong, that Budanov turns out to be right, I really want this, but it seems to me that we need to be patient and prepare for the worst scenario. About another year and a half,” said Kuzik.
