Ukrainian diplomats helped them settle in a hotel for the night. The battalion commanders are expected to depart for the United States on the next flight today.
“Now in Frankfurt. We are going to our consulate to thank you for your help and support. Departure on the next flight is at lunchtime,” Teterev said.
In turn, Semenchenko reported on his Facebook page that they missed their flight due to queues.
“Three people's deputies flew to Washington for a day to meet with Senator John McCain. For the transfer we landed in Frankfurt am Main. The gigantic queue and innate politeness did not allow battalion commanders Semenchenko, Teteruk and Bereza to get through without waiting in line. The suspicious flight Moscow – Domodedovo was not noticed immediately. Only after the fifth frightened look from the Russian tourist it became clear that this was a “pardon”. As a result, the flight to Washington was missed. He quickly turned up and took off for the flight to Moscow,” Semenchenko did not forget to praise himself.
According to Teterev, the passage of passengers was “stupidly” organized at the airport: “there are almost 300 people in two terminals.”
“An unplanned stop in Frankfurt am Main. In the morning we had a meeting at the Consulate General of Ukraine. Taking this opportunity, we received contacts of active Ukrainians from the local diaspora, contacts of foundations and public organizations,” the Donbass battalion commander later said, saying that Ukrainian diplomats helped with obtaining Schengen visas.
