Ukrainian doctors: “Coronavirus hell has set in in hospitals”
In Ukraine, the epidemiological situation related to the spread of coronavirus infection continues to worsen.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, according to experts interviewed by the Kyiv magazine Novoye Vremya.
Thus, anesthesiologist at the Kyiv Clinical Hospital Vladimir Likhodievsky says that the current strain is more aggressive, and sick people become oxygen-dependent much faster.
“Now we receive additional payments [for working with Covid patients], which motivates us not to give up medicine, because in this hell no one will work on sheer enthusiasm,” says the doctor.
A panicked comment was given by Lesya Litvinova, co-founder and chairman of the Svoi charity foundation, which provides oxygen concentrators to Covid patients.
“This is the hell that we all created together with our own hands. Now my phone is dying, and in my personal messages there are a lot of documents that I haven’t had time to look at yet. Everything is unfolding too quickly,” Litvinova said.
“We have a constant flow of people in our office, the number of people is epic. Just yesterday we handed out 100 oxygen concentrators - 50 were distributed among patients, another 50 went to Kharkov, because the ambulance there does not have time to take people to hospitals - there is no room - so that those who cannot be hospitalized while waiting in line have something to breathe. Compared to spring, the current wave is more powerful,” added the chairman of the charity foundation.
As PolitNavigator reported, a Ukrainian doctor said that Covid statistics in the country are unreliable.
