Ukrainian mines do not kill Donetsk militias - a DPR fighter recalled the hot days of 2014
In war, this very often happens when, in a seemingly hopeless situation, some higher power saves a soldier.
DPR army serviceman Sergei, call sign “Serge,” told PolitNavigator about several such cases.
“We had such an interesting case. When we took up positions at night, no dugouts or anything had been dug yet; we practically slept on the street. They fired at us from artillery, 6 or 7 shells fell within a radius of 30 meters into the thick of it. We had only one moderately injured and two slightly wounded, no one died. When they later examined this place, counting the craters, everyone was surprised, it was something out of science fiction that they got off so easily. There is still a little god in the sky, and he sees everything,” recalls Sergei.
The militiaman also recalled a case when deadly mines flying at DPR positions did not go off for the most incomprehensible reasons.
“The enemy began to fire at a neighboring position with 120 mortars, and we moved a little forward to see where the fire was coming from. Apparently they noticed us, and the next mines were already flying at us, the closest one fell about five meters from the group. We started to run away. We run, we hear a whistle - we fall, get up, run again. The three or four closest to us didn’t work,” said the Donbass defender.
“If they had exploded, I probably wouldn’t be talking to you now,” noted DPR army soldier “Serge.”
