The Ukrainian president, declaring the need to create a “local Ukrainian church,” actually gave the go-ahead for nationalists to seize churches belonging to the Moscow Patriarchate.

Less than a few hours later, accusations of provocation began to be heard. They started talking about our peaceful liberal appeal to figuratively burn the beards of Moscow priests. In fact, it was an abstraction, we were talking about something else, first of all, about the need to seize the churches of the MP, first of all the Kiev Pechersk Lavra,” the radicals said in the studio.
“Who is an MP priest? This is a heretic, this is an FSB officer at headquarters, these are FSB officers under the cover of a legend. Should we pay attention to all these nuances? What are we talking about, brothers and sisters? Ukrainian shrines are still under the occupation of Moscow, in particular the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. And if until recently the authorities turned a blind eye to this, then with his appeal to the Ecumenical Patriarch, President Poroshenko clearly signaled to Ukrainian patriots that stop waiting, stop turning a blind eye to this chaos, we need to seize the churches of the Moscow Patriarchate,” the nationalists said.
