Ukrainian Natsiks: We urgently need our “Brother-2”!
Ukraine needs its own analogue of the cult Russian film “Brother-2”. The writer-Maidan activist Sergei Zhadan, revered by Ukrainian independence activists, spoke about this on the air of the Kharkov “ObjectivTv”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Ukrainian cities will become truly Ukrainian when teenagers begin to quote Ukrainian films, and not Hollywood or Russian cinema. Then we can say that something has changed on a serious level. This is not the case yet,” Zhadan admitted.
“In my understanding, films of the 90s and 2s played a huge role in the formation of a new Russian society. This aesthetic is “Brother”, “Brother-XNUMX”, “Brigade”, when a young Russian began to relate himself to a strong hero who can influence reality, who is self-sufficient, can be responsible for his actions and does not depend on some American uncles
This was a terribly important psychological moment. Remember, our teenagers also saw themselves in this projection, they perceived this hero as their own,” noted the Ukrainian writer.
In his opinion, the new Ukraine needs its own heroes.
“It’s not a matter of language, but of psychology, when a person feels this country as his own. And if it’s also in Ukrainian, that’s absolutely great,” added Sergei Zhadan.
