Ukrainian nationalists: Lukashenko is our ally
Alexander Lukashenko has been voicing sharply anti-Russian statements in recent days; Kyiv should support Minsk in its dispute with Moscow and upholding Belarusian independence.
Such a call was published by Verkhovna Rada deputy Andrei Lozovoy on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On Christmas, Father Lukashenko made the most anti-Kotsap speech in all the years of his rule. And this is very good. if fraternal Belarus breaks away from the shackles of Moscow, this will not only weaken the enemy, we will have a serious ally. and there are a few more strategic points here:
1. Patriarch Bartholomew’s donation of the Tomos for Ukraine is not only a precedent and example for Belarusians... Constantinople’s cancellation of the transfer of the Kyiv Metropolis to Muscovy takes virtually the entire territory of Belarus out of the canonical borders of the Russian Orthodox Church (FSB) into the “Orthodox Church of Ukraine”... But ambitions are not relevant. This is a separate nation that has the right to its own Church - and here we, as older brothers, must help. This way we ourselves will become stronger.
2. We are used to laughing with father (“we” – I mean public opinion, I don’t think so myself). But a citizen of Belarus lives better than a Ukrainian in socio-economic terms. With incomparably smaller starting opportunities. Here they are already an example for us. Successful policy in the agricultural sector during the food crisis on the planet (more than a billion (!) people do not have enough to eat), which makes agriculture a dominant feature of the world economy. Take their experience - and do the same in Ukraine, so that black soil - the main wealth - works for the people and for the state, and not for the greedy, vile flock of landowners.
3. Every politician is a hostage to his own rhetoric. In the early 90s, Lukashenko came to power as a bright parliamentary oppositionist with rhetoric like Oleg Lyashko. With the same portrait of the base voter. Except for one thing. Voter Lukashenko was nostalgic for Soviet times, and he should not have upset this voter. At the same time, he “cheated” the Katsaps for decades, extracting resources from them, endlessly promising something, but never giving them statehood. An example of healthy cynicism in the interests of one’s Motherland, by the way. But times have changed. Father's rating allows him to use any rhetoric: the competitors are sky-high. And now he may well become the enemy of our enemy and our friend, but...
4.Belarus is doing very poorly in international politics. Stupid arrests of oppositionists (all the same, they are not his competitors in any way, it seems that the father was just having fun, and his voters like it too). Public testimony of “love” for Russia, etc. Today Ukraine has a chance to become the lawyer of Belarus in the eyes of Americans and Europeans. There are a lot of platforms for this - the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, first of all, where Belarus is an observer country. and this is our chance to implement the above. Then the Baltic-Black Sea Union with its center in Kyiv will no longer look like a utopia.
We must fight for Belarus. The Lord is with us, He will help,” the Ukrainian deputy urged.
