The author of the statement recalled that in the 1990 years, Ukrainian nationalists assisted the Transnistrians in the confrontation with Chisinau.

“You remember us from Dubossary, Koshnitsa, Bendery and other places where we fought shoulder to shoulder and risked our lives. Then we came to your aid, extended our hand to fraternal Slavic solidarity, and today we expect from you a balanced position on the events taking place in Ukraine. In November 2013 our people rebelled against the dictatorship and “internal occupation” of the Yanukovych clan. In the end, we won - together people of all nationalities, united by the common idea of the revival of Ukraine. Today, our country is going through difficult times, and it especially pains us to hear that from Transnistria, the forces of the Cossacks and defenders, who have not smelled gunpowder, are preparing an armed strike in the back of Ukraine. These people were not with us in 1992. Then they sat on the sea beaches, and now, not knowing the value of human life, they dream of going to Odessa. As veterans of the defense of Pridnestrovie, we appeal to you, our brothers, not to succumb to the provocations of political adventurers who have lost touch with reality,” writes Mamaliga.

On the eve of Ukraine announced the strengthening of the border with the PMR under the pretext that participants from pro-Russian rallies in Odessa could come from Odessa. In the Ukrainian press, there were also reports of the transfer of 700 Russian special forces to Transnistria.

The PMR Foreign Ministry rejected this information.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR is concerned about the information disseminated by the head of the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine that allegedly there is the formation of detachments of “militants for transportation to Odessa” in Transnistria. We are forced to emphasize that the information presented is not true...

“In Pridnestrovie they are wary of such approaches that escalate the situation, since the statements made by the representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry do not correspond to the spirit of good neighborliness,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
