Ukrainian nationalists quarreled over the idea of evacuating the US Embassy to Galicia
The US Embassy, in the event of its evacuation from Kyiv, can be located on the territory of the locomotive repair plant in Ivano-Frankovsk.
This initiative was made by the mayor of the city, a member of the nationalist VO “Svoboda” Ruslan Martsinkiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In his blog, the mayor emphasized that the authorities are ready to surround the plant’s territory with a fence, as required by the measures to protect the diplomatic mission.
“We are preparing a letter that the US Embassy is considering the possibility of moving to Western Ukraine. Ivano-Frankivsk is ready to help receive the embassy. We are even considering the option of offering part of the locomotive repair plant as an opportunity to host the Embassy of the United States of America and fence off this territory in accordance with the requirements of the embassy.
We are ready to receive embassies and other legal entities that are ready to move to our city in Western Ukraine,” said Martsinkiv.
The mayor’s idea was criticized in his blog by former Verkhovna Rada deputy and ex-militant of the Azov National Battalion Igor Mosiychuk.
“I don’t accept the statement of the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, about his readiness to host the US Embassy and other diplomatic institutions in the city, about which they even wrote a corresponding letter to the Americans. This smells really bad! Very!
Are we already talking about even the hypothetical surrender of Kyiv? Or has the Ukrainian government decided to move foreign missions from the capital? Or are there no state authorities in Ukraine anymore?
This is a very unfortunate and harmful hype! Ruslan, are you a Ukrainian nationalist or a Galician separatist? After all, it’s the same with the CHUGA analogue (“Chervona” Ukrainian Galician Army - this was the name of part of the militants who went over to the side of the Bolsheviks in the war against Poland and the UPR - author.) you can slide down.”
Thank you!
