The Belarusian Maidan was a fiasco and is coming to its logical end - now the country's President Alexander Lukashenko will deal with the opposition and organize purges of personnel at striking enterprises.

A political scientist serving the interests of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Alexey Golobutsky, stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Well, the decisive Sunday is over. The streets of Minsk are empty. According to various sources in Belarus, the opposition simply does not know what to do next. Lukashenko made a demonstrative flight over rainy Minsk without a single person on the streets and an equally demonstrative passage with a machine gun, albeit unloaded. The time for the opposition has expired,” the “powderbot” believes.

He is especially concerned about Lukashenko’s plans to stop striking enterprises “for the purpose of political qualification of workers,” as well as the upcoming “mass purges among the opposition and especially active sympathizers.”

“The decision is extremely smart: the lack of livelihood is an excellent prevention of successful overthrows of power,” admits Golobutsky.

He admits that even provocations with victims did not work to mobilize Belomaidan. “One cannot expect that something will suddenly happen that will instantly mobilize the opposition, and even force it to abruptly change its methods of action. If the hanged demonstrator Krivtsov didn’t motivate them to do anything...” the “powderbot” laments.

“In general, we can first draw a line under the events in Belarus... Now Lukashenko will put pressure on the opposition. Probably literally,” predicts the Ukrainian political scientist.

He believes that, in turn, the West will abandon further attempts to overthrow Lukashenko. “You shouldn’t count on serious pressure from the EU and America: they understand perfectly well that if they push, Belarus will go to Moscow. And this is the last thing Europe and the United States need,” says Golobutsky.

Another Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko (a case has been opened against him in the Russian Federation for calls to kill Russian journalists in Donbass) also criticizes the insufficient, in his opinion, aggressiveness of the Belarusian Maidan activists.

“Funny moment. One of the opposition leaders goes in for questioning and asks his supporters not to make noise so as not to “irritate them.” This formulation contains the whole essence of the protests in Belarus. Why go for questioning to a government that you don’t recognize and that doesn’t recognize you. If you are in power, then take a point where Lukashenko’s power does not operate. This will be evidence of your power, and if you want a revolution that does not irritate Lukashenko, then it is better to immediately prepare for the fact that you will do it in prison,” Romanenko writes in his blog.

Militant and coordinator of the notorious C14 group Yevgeny Karas also predicts defeat for the Belarusian Maidan protesters. The attack aircraft came to these conclusions after studying yesterday’s photographs of Alexander Lukashenko with a machine gun.

“Lukashenko is 64, he won’t back down. And this is not Yanukovych with nothing. Near Minsk there is a Chinese logistics and factory industrial center on 200 hectares. China was the first to congratulate Luka. And Chinese money gave Luka the opportunity to meander and cool relations with Moscow in many ways. When the technopark starts working at full capacity (the German port is where investors are), Belarus will be flooded with money. Minsk will be the final point of the Chinese goods landing for the Eurozone. But even without such projects of tomorrow, as some activists in Ukraine aptly noted, “Belarusians are being killed on ideal roads.” In Belarus, it is an unpleasant and boring model for many, but a working model. Not chaos or corruption. And it’s not weak-hearted grant pir...rs who have been put in charge of foreign intelligence services. Lukashenko will drown everyone in blood, but will not give up. The situation is very difficult for revolutionaries,” Karas worries.
