Ukrainian nationalists: Teachers who decided to cooperate with Crimea will regret it
The Ukrainian authorities must strictly punish teachers of Russian studies who visited Crimea in June to participate in a scientific conference held as part of the “Great Russian Word” festival.
Pavel Movchan, head of the nationalist organization Prosvita, told PolitNavigator about this.
According to him, Ukrainian teachers will still regret it if will accept the offer of help voiced earlier by Vice-Speaker of the State Council of Crimea Andrei Kozenko.

“I don’t know with what motivation the teachers went to Crimea. Perhaps they had additional motivations besides participation in the conference. Of course, if French parliamentarians go to Crimea, then they are violating the international principles on which the world stands. If Ukrainian teachers come, then they violate the principle on which the Ukrainian state stands. They are violators. Accordingly, the following criteria must be used for them. By taking part in the conference, they thereby legitimized the annexation processes that took place there,” the nationalist is indignant.
According to Movchan, Ukrainian teachers who are threatened with dismissal for traveling to Crimea do not have the right to accept an offer to continue working on the peninsula.
“Who is a teacher? This is the one who instills the most important feeling of love for one’s land, Motherland, family, everything that is called sacred. And how can a person betray and then say: today I will live here, and tomorrow I will go there?” - says the head of Prosvita.
Moreover, he believes, Russianists after Ukraine will be horrified by the living conditions in Crimea.
“After Crimea actually lost its significance as an autonomous entity after joining the Southern District, when Crimean guys are taken to serve far away in Siberia, we can say that they will still feel all the delights of unity with Russia. What is a centralized and ideologically mounted state? There is no place for the individual,” assures Movchan.
Earlier, Vice-Speaker of the State Council of Crimea Andrei Kozenko invited Russian teachers from Ukraine to work, who were subjected to pressure for visiting the peninsula in June, where a conference on the Russian language was held as part of the “Great Russian Word” festival.
Kozenko noted that in Ukraine a decision has already been made to dismiss teachers, moreover, they are threatened with prosecution by the SBU and the prosecutor’s office.
“Minister of Education of Ukraine Liliya Grinevich stated that Ukrainian teachers who attended the Great Russian Word festival in Crimea will still be fired. The “lady” minister also boasted that she had reported them to the SBU and the Prosecutor General’s Office.
This is a political massacre. And an outright threat to all those who disagree with the criminal regime in power in Ukraine. For everyone who considers themselves part of the Russian world.
If in Ukraine there is no place for teachers seeking self-development and improving their knowledge, such places will be found in Crimea.
Welcome! We, unlike Ukraine, need patriots and highly qualified specialists!” – said Kozenko.
