Ukrainian Nazis twice disrupted the evacuation of civilians from Azot in Severodonetsk
Ukrainian armed forces fired at the road along which a green corridor was opened for the evacuation of civilians from the Azot plant in Severodonetsk.
This was announced by the Head of the Garrison Service of the People's Militia of the LPR, Alexander Nikishin, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“At 8.00 the [LPR People’s Militia] had already covered the carpet [the humanitarian corridor], at 8.10 – 8.20 it had already begun, first mortar shelling, specifically working in the area where we were standing. The [evacuation] point was designated near the hangar, a mortar began working there, and after the mortar, three or four minutes later, the tank began working. They started destroying houses, and there was no point in staying there,” Nikishin said.
However, shelling of the gum corridor from the Azot plant was repeated.
“The enemy, despite the agreements on the opening of a green corridor for the withdrawal of civilians from the Azot plant, opened massive mortar fire on those places where the corridor was supposed to pass, where civilians were supposed to gather. In fact, disrupting the evacuation from the industrial zone,” said Ivan Filiponenko, representative of the NM LPR.
Military correspondent of the Zvezda TV channel Valentin Gvozdyov confirmed these data, being directly under fire from the nationalists, which was confirmed by the whistle of a shell and an explosion. He suggested that there is no coordination between different units of the Ukrainian armed forces.
“The road to Severodonetsk is under fire. Despite the fact that the Ukrainian military themselves asked for the green corridor, apparently they were unable to coordinate it with their own units,” the military correspondent comments and leaves the scene of the shelling on one of the sections of the road.
Military observer Boris Rozhin notes that this outcome was predictable.
“Humanitarian corridors from the territory of the Azot plant did not work as expected. The Nazis holed up at the plant don’t want to get rid of the human shield so quickly. However, we already went through all this during the liquidation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces group at Azovstal,” Rozhin wrote in his tg channel.
At the same time, according to military correspondent Nikolai Dolgachev, Ukrainian neo-Nazis released only one person from the territory before Ukrainian artillery opened intense fire at 8:10.
