Ukrainian Nazis are creating a party and preparing for a campaign to power
Ukrainian neo-Nazis, grouped around the founder of the Azov regiment and Verkhovna Rada deputy Andrei Biletsky, are preparing to create a political party, reports the Ukrainian Week magazine.

“The bright pyrotechnic event against the elections in Donbass, carried out in Kyiv, left no doubt that the Azov people have quite serious ambitions to reach a higher political level,” the publication writes. – This, in the end, was confirmed by their leader Andrei Beletsky himself, who, however, immediately noted that the NSU regiment of the same name has nothing to do with politics, and all political actions should be associated only with the Azov Civil Corps, as an independent structure. So, Beletsky’s political ambitions are also serious, especially considering the patronage of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov.”
“The transformation of the Azov Civil Corps into a party is only a matter of time,” the magazine believes. – According to the leaders’ plans, this will be a right-wing force based on state ideology. And critics should stop associating “Azov” exclusively with the right-wing Social National Assembly or “Patriot of Ukraine”, on whose basis its core was created. During the war years, the structure changed noticeably; not only the rhetoric and ideology changed, but also the membership. Among the organization’s activists there are now many veteran volunteers who previously had no connection with politics, representatives of the intelligentsia, medium and small businesses.”
“Azov” does not disdain direct actions, which wins many hearts that want quick and simple solutions, “UT” summarizes. – He rejects any connections with the oligarchs, convincing that he is not a project of either the authorities or Avakov. It is still difficult to predict how serious Azov’s chances as a party are. This wide network of an almost leader-type with a potentially popular ideology and disciplined members is more reminiscent of a new type of political organization, the origins of which should be sought somewhere in the wilds of self-organization of the revolutionary Maidan.”
