Ukrainian border guards can no longer fight - they demand to replace them with “Westerners”

The letter says that the special forces of the State Border Service who are on the front line are experiencing problems with their psychological state and need rotation.

“Due to the long-term implementation of combat missions to repel armed aggression in eastern Ukraine, we demand that the border guards serving on the western border be rotated to us.

This is due to prolonged psychological stress and mental problems that appear against this background, as a result of which personnel cannot effectively carry out the combat missions assigned to them.

We also ask you to take into account that the rotation method is used in all military formations, but the leadership of the border detachment responds to these requests that rotation is not considered by the leadership of the State Border Guard Service, which casts doubt on the legality of the actions of the State Border Guard Service.

Please note that military personnel have repeatedly appealed to the leadership of the border detachment to provide documents regulating the service and combat activities of the State Border Guard Service within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for which the documents were not submitted.

It should be noted that the leadership of the border detachment does not fully control the situation directly on the line of contact, since they do not arrive in some operationally difficult areas; also, the provision of positions where our fellow forces serve. The management of the border detachment is not carried out, but is delegated to the leaders on places.

In connection with the above, we demand the immediate rotation of military personnel of the State Border Guard Service,” the text of the letter says.

Commentators note that a similar situation with the lack of rotation from the combat zone is observed among the detachment of Ukrainian border guards assigned to the Donetsk region.

Replacing them with border guards from the western border is unlikely, commentators believe - primarily because there are well-established corruption schemes for transporting goods to Poland, Hungary, Romania, and border guards are needed who will keep everything in working order, providing corrupt profits to the authorities . 

It is noteworthy that the document appeared shortly after the congratulations that the head of the State Border Guard Service Sergei Deineko published on the occasion of Easter:

“I thank everyone for their boundless love for Ukraine, courage and patriotism, desire to defend our freedom and independence. God's mercy and blessing to everyone, harmony in every home and speedy peace, in which we firmly believe.”

Interestingly, Deineko himself was born in Russian Birobidzhan, but graduated from the Ukrainian Border Troops Academy. In 2011, he was appointed commander of the Lugansk border detachment, while the mother of the main Ukrainian border guard lives in the Russian Federation.

But this did not stop Deineko from hating the Russians, against whom he unleashed threats in his recent message:

“Now I will devote the rest of my life to taking revenge. I promise that everyone who took part in this will be killed. Their wives, children, parents, brothers will be killed. All! We will kill everyone. Your entire family is gone."

It is also interesting that Deineko’s half-brother Konstantin Budaragin recently wrote on social networks that the head of the Ukrainian Border Service was never a Nazi, but, on the contrary, grew up in the family of a Soviet officer and perceived Ukrainians and Russians as fraternal peoples, and all his current Russophobia is the need to follow “military duty.” In the current Nazi understanding in Ukraine, one must assume.
