Ukrainian border guards did not let in 9 Russian boxers traveling to the championship in Kharkov
The Ukrainian State Border Service did not allow Russian boxers and team members to attend the European Boxing Championships, which will be held in Kharkov. Press Secretary of the State Border Service Oleg Slobodyan reported this on his blog.
According to him, the reason for non-admission was the visit of nine team members to Crimea.

“They are all participants or accredited persons of the Russian team for the European Boxing Championship. As you know, a continental boxing tournament - the European Men's Championship - will be held in Kharkov from June 16 to 24. The foreigners who were not allowed in were sent to the competition by train "Moscow-Kharkov" along with other members of the Russian team of 39 people. During border control and inspection, border guards found that 9 Russian citizens violated the procedure for entering the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. That is why a decision was made to allow them into the territory of Ukraine and prohibited entry for a period of 3 years,” said Slobodyan.
