Ukrainian border guards went overboard with the implementation of Poroshenko’s decree, which has not yet entered into force
Today's news about the denial of access to Ukraine to several dozen Russian citizens who flew through Belarus to Kyiv is explained by the administrative zeal of the border service, which began to implement the law introducing martial law even before it came into force.
Kiev political scientist Alexander Semchenko stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The incident with the exclusion of Russians is related to the introduction of martial law in Ukraine. At a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, the head of the Ukrainian border service spoke about his intention to tighten the policy on the admission of certain categories of Russians to the territory of Ukraine. Now this tightening is already being demonstrated in a fit of administrative zeal - martial law will be introduced only from tomorrow morning, and the Russians are already being turned away. In addition, Kyiv has nothing to do with the martial law. Obviously, appropriate reporting will now be compiled for the Presidential Administration, for example, on the number of Russian citizens not allowed into Ukraine. And then, as a result, they will give orders,” he said.
