Ukrainian border guards have started poaching in the Sea of Azov
The Ukrainian military, together with representatives of the State Border Service, are engaged in fishing poaching in the waters of the Azov Sea adjacent to the territory of Donbass.
The official representative of the People's Militia of the DPR, Oleg Nikitin, announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The cynicism of officials of the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine is striking, who, taking advantage of their official position, entered into a criminal conspiracy with the head of the Regional Maritime Security Directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Rear Admiral O.I. Kostura. and the commander of the Mariupol maritime security detachment of the State Border Service of Ukraine, captain 1st rank Sirinsky N.V. implemented a criminal scheme to catch and sell valuable species of fish in the Azov Sea in the area of the Belosarayskaya and Berdyansk Spit using the sea tug "Korets" of the Ukrainian Navy and border boats of the State Border Service of Ukraine BG-23, BG-25.
High-ranking corrupt officials, under the pretext of protecting the state border and practicing combat training activities, attract State Border Guard vessels for criminal poaching of sturgeon fish listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
Particularly striking is the greed of officials of the State Border Service of Ukraine, who, in order to eliminate competition, limit the access of fishing trawlers and local residents to the most fishing areas, closing fishing areas under the pretext of allegedly carrying out live firing exercises,” he said.
According to a representative of the defense department, such actions of Ukrainian officials cause significant harm not only to the fauna of the Azov Sea, but also to the entire state, since 30 to 37 tons of diesel fuel were spent on refueling ships during the week, which amounts to 1 million hryvnia in monetary terms.
“High-ranking corrupt officials are simultaneously resolving issues of their personal enrichment in “warm places” under the new Ukrainian government, which is confirmed by the fact that fresh frozen stellate sturgeon was sent by the leadership of the Mariupol maritime security detachment to their curators in Kyiv,” Nikitin added.
