Ukrainian border guards: a Russian woman with three children asked for asylum in Nezalezhnaya
A Russian citizen with three children last night at the border asked to be granted refugee status due to persecution in Russia on religious grounds, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in a message from the press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
“During border control at the Senkovka checkpoint, a woman who arrived with children born in 2005, 2007 and 2009 turned to the border guards of the Chernigov detachment with a request to grant her refugee status. The Russian woman reported that she was being persecuted on the territory of the Russian Federation for religious reasons,” the report says.
The State Border Guard Service added that the Russian was allowed into Ukraine, and her request was reported to the State Migration Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region.
