Ukrainian border guards pulled all reserves to the border with Belarus
On the eve of the Russian-Belarusian exercises “Zapad-2017”, the State Border Service of Ukraine strengthened control at all sections of the border.

“Since the beginning of September, the State Border Service of Ukraine has strengthened security measures at all sections of the border. This is due to the Russian-Belarusian exercises Zapad-2017, which will take place from September 14 to 20,” the statement says.
In particular, two-level command and staff exercises of the governing bodies and subdivisions of the state border guards started in the border department. They are conducted as part of the operational training of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The exercises are also involved reserves of the border department.
“Currently all sections of the border, without exception, are being strengthened. The situation is monitored not only in the north, but also in the ATO area, the western, southern, eastern sections and on the border with occupied Crimea. Border guards will cover the directions of possible provocative actions and armed incursions in close cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the National Police. Such measures will last at least until the end of the Zapad-2017 exercises,” the department added.
