Some of the drivers say that the documents allegedly contain “the wrong three letters.” During this time, a queue of trucks 15 km long formed. About seventy drivers stuck at the border, having run out of water and food, rebelled and blocked the road to all traffic.
“We missed 5 cars during the day. Now we blocked the traffic and only then started to let them in. In two hours, more than 15 cars have already passed,” said truck driver Vasily, who is transporting oatmeal to Simferopol. “We’ve been standing there for three days now.” The border guards are attacking each other, saying they have nothing to do with it.”
Drivers of perishable goods are in a panic: some are carrying strawberries, some are carrying cherries. As it turned out, it was not only border guards who did not allow trucks to enter Crimea.
“The border guards said that the SBU decides everything. There’s one standing here in uniform, but he doesn’t show any documents or introduce himself. This is already the second one. As I understand it, one takes over for two days. So they check the documents and don’t let anyone in. They say they are fake. Although all my documents are in order,” says truck driver Igor.
He is bringing a truckload of juice to Feodosia. The documents were issued to him by customs in Tsyurupinsk on Tuesday. “I’ve been standing since 22:00 Tuesday, I’ve traveled three kilometers in three days, and now I’m already a kilometer from the border. After we blocked the road and did not let anyone except pregnant women, women with children, the elderly and the sick through, a small advance began.”
According to the press service of the border department of the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Crimea, Ukraine unilaterally banned the movement of trucks carrying consumer goods across the state border.
According to Russian border guards, from June 25, 2015, the State Border Service of Ukraine stopped the import (export) of goods and cargo into the territory of Crimea, and as of June 26, more than 250 units of freight transport had accumulated on the border with Crimea.
