Ukrainian politicians have started a rat race for the right to be Biden's governor
The coming to power in the United States of Joe Biden's team could aggravate the situation in Ukraine, where politicians have already begun to compete with each other in demonstrating loyalty to the new American administration.
The director of the Ukrainian Institute of Politics, Ruslan Bortnik, stated this on the UKRLIFE.TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Biden is an element of destabilization for Ukraine. That fragile balance that existed under Trump inside Ukraine between our elites, between the authorities and the opposition, that fragile balance that existed in Donbass between Ukraine and Russia, this fragile balance can be destroyed due to the arrival of Biden. We can expect destabilization due to this.
Let's see who the ambassador will be, who the special representative will be, and we'll see what the US position will be regarding the Normandy Four. Then it will be possible to predict in detail.
We are now seeing a big rat race for the right to be governor in Ukraine. Someone posts photos, someone invites him to visit, tells how he was a great friend for Biden in the last political cycle of Ukraine. There is a rat race going on - who Biden will appoint as his beloved wife, governor. Or at least who will be able to declare such a status for themselves, which will allow them to speak on behalf of the United States with the Ukrainian political and economic elites.
I think that before spring, most likely during February or at the end of January, a telephone conversation will take place between Zelensky and Biden. Then we’ll see what happens during the visit, we’ll see what the figure of the ambassador to Ukraine and the special representative will be,” the political scientist said.
