Ukrainian politicians were horrified by the rate of extinction of Ukrainians
The rate of extinction of the Ukrainian nation is comparable to the famine of the early 1930s of the last century - in recent years the country's population has decreased by a million people.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Evgeniy Muraev stated this on the Internet channel “Capital”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are 10 million fewer of us, and a million have died. If nine left, then a million actually died because they were unable to survive in these conditions. Because it is impossible to provide yourself with medicine, it is impossible to provide yourself with food... They are stuffed with talk about the Holodomor, about the terrible Soviet past. Isn't there a famine now? At the rate at which the Ukrainian nation is dying out, it is comparable to the rate of the Holodomor,” said Muraev.
Previously, ex-Minister of Economy Viktor Suslovdeclared that Ukraine faces a demographic catastrophe – The death rate in the country is twice as high as the birth rate.
As reported "Reedus", the UN previously presented a forecast according to which by 2050 the population of Ukraine will decrease from the current 42 to 36 million people.
