Ukrainian political scientists positively assessed the activities of Boris Lozhkin, who stifled freedom of speech in the country
Ukrainian political scientists believe that the appointment of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko as head of his administration Boris Lozhkin justified itself in the first year of his term.
Said this at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine agency Chairman of the Board of the Center for Applied Political Research “Penta” Vladimir Fesenko.
“At one time I assessed the appointment of Boris Lozhkin as head of the presidential administration as an experiment, and I have to admit that it was quite successful. He was rather positive. Lozhkin is not public; unlike many of his predecessors, he does not abuse media activity. Maybe it was even possible to add a little to this, but this is his style,” Fesenko noted.
He noted that the merit of the head of the Presidential Administration is strengthening the institution of the presidency without changing the formal legal rules of the game in a parliamentary-presidential republic. The political scientist also considers the appointment of foreigners to government positions and the attempt to implement the request for technocrats in power to be a great merit of the presidential administration.
Fesenko pointed out that Lozhkin worked this year without scandals or conflicts. “This indicates that this choice was the right one,” he said.
Recall as PolitNavigator reported, The Ukrainian authorities have established the most severe censorship in the media, and the heads of television channels receive weekly “temniks” from Boris Lozhkin for the media coverage of events desired by the authorities.
Also, thanks to Boris Lozhkin, the authorities managed to equate any dissatisfaction with the authorities to high treason and “aiding terrorists.”
