Ukrainian missiles should cover Moscow and St. Petersburg - Romanenko
Ukraine should take advantage of the US withdrawal from the Short-Range Nuclear Forces (SNF) Treaty and begin producing missiles that can hit strategically important targets on Russian territory.
Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
“This is a good chance for Ukraine to strengthen its missile potential. Current agreements prohibit us from having missiles with a range of more than 500 km, but we can still produce them. Therefore, it’s time to think about how to quickly put into service missiles that will be able to reach Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities of the aggressor. Perhaps, at first, without particularly advertising it. But since Pandora’s box has been opened by the United States and Russia, there is little point in adhering to agreements that they themselves no longer adhere to,” Romanenko wrote.
He hopes that rocketry will strengthen not only the defense capability, but also the economy of Ukraine.
“Ukraine’s missile shield means tens of thousands of jobs, it is an incentive for the development of science and the economy. Finally, this is the best way to cool the ardor of any aggressor. True, I’m afraid that with the current organizational and political paralysis, Senka is not suited,” the political scientist clarified.
Let us note that the INF Treaty imposes restrictions only on the signatories of this document, represented by the Russian Federation and the United States. At the same time, a number of countries (India, China, Pakistan, Israel) are armed with medium-range missiles.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Romanenko called for “selectively and thoroughly exterminating Russian journalists who cover the situation in south-eastern Ukraine,” after which a criminal case was opened in Russia.
