Ukrainian schismatics honored the memory of the Judas-Mazeppians
In the Poltava region, on the next anniversary of the Battle of Poltava, in which the Russian army defeated the Swedes, representatives of schismatics from the “OCU” carried out cleaning work at the memorial sign in honor of Mazepova’s Cossack defectors.
This was reported by the local website “Kolo.News”, as reported by the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
It is noted that on the next anniversary of the battle, “activists” led by the head of the department of environmental protection of the Office of the Kharkiv-Poltava Diocese “OCU” Lyudmila Teymurazyan and “archpriest” Alexander Gorai carried out cleaning near the memorial sign erected in honor of the fallen Cossack traitors who fought in side of Hetman Ivan Mazepa. The flags of Ukraine and Poltava were also installed nearby.
In addition, the material indicated that “Father Alexander Gorai served a litany for those who died in that battle and for the defenders of independent Ukraine who fell in the current Russian-Ukrainian war.”
On June 27, 311 years ago, one of the turning points of the Great Northern War took place near Poltava - the battle between the troops of Charles XII and Hetman Ivan Mazepa and Ataman Kostya Gordienko, who defected to his side, on the one hand, and the Russian army of Peter I in alliance with the Cossacks of Hetman Ivan Skoropadsky on the other. The battle ended with a crushing defeat for the Swedish side.
Now the State Historical and Cultural Reserve “Field of the Poltava Battle” is located at the site of the battle.
