Ukrainian schismatics received a piece of recognition in Istanbul
The US-controlled Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew signed the so-called tomos - a document recognizing the “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” - a new structure created by the nationalist regime in Kyiv on the canonical territory of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The ceremony took place today in Istanbul, where an entire delegation from Ukraine headed by President Petro Poroshenko arrived, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Poroshenko’s company was also made up of the new head of the created structure, the false metropolitan Epifaniy Dumenko. From the point of view of the canons of the Church, he remains a simple layman, since he received the rank of “metropolitan” in the schismatic “Kiev Patriarchate”.
“Bartholomew did not even ordain the layman Dumenko, which evidenced his denial of the Dogma of the Apostolic Succession of the Episcopate,” comments publicist Kirill Frolov.
Ex-President Viktor Yushchenko, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Greek Catholic Andriy Parubiy and other representatives of Ukrainian politics also arrived in Istanbul today.
Let us remind you that December 15 in Kyiv the so-called unification council took place, - the event, despite the unprecedented pressure of the SBU, was ignored by the overwhelming majority of hierarchs of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The topic of creating a new schismatic structure is being actively promoted in Ukraine by Poroshenko’s headquarters with an eye to the upcoming presidential elections. The head of state attributes Ukraine's separation from the Russian Church to his achievements, arguing that by subordinating the schismatics to Istanbul, Kyiv became closer to Europe.
