Ukrainian intelligence officers hit a mine while trying to salvage the wreckage of their drone
Two Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen sent to evacuate the wreckage of a UAV were blown up in their own minefield.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov spoke about this at a briefing today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Daniil Bezsonov noted that despite the agreements reached in Minsk, the Ukrainian leadership does not abandon attempts to seize the territory of the Republic by force.
“Over the past 58 hours, we have detected increased enemy aerial reconnaissance in the area of responsibility of the 500th Motorized Infantry Brigade. The air defense forces of the NM DPR could not ignore this fact. As a result of coordinated actions of the crew, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were missing another quadcopter-type aircraft. Its wreckage is located XNUMX m from the enemy observation post in the area of the settlement of Novgorodskoye,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
He also said that while trying to evacuate the wreckage of the aircraft, an enemy reconnaissance group was blown up in its own minefield.
“At 2 o’clock in the morning, an enemy reconnaissance group of 2 people attempted to evacuate the wreckage of the UAV. But when moving towards the drone, 200 m before the place where it fell, the Ukrainian intelligence officers were blown up by their own mines. According to the report of the commander of the 13th motorized infantry battalion to the headquarters of the 58th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the explosion occurred on their own mine - PMN-2, which allegedly is not in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of the servicemen died on the spot, the second, Vladimir Yuryevich Bogoyan, born in 1989, was taken to the hospital with a separation of the front sections of the left foot and shrapnel wounds of the upper and lower extremities,” added the official representative of the defense department.
