“We now have 88 thermal units, and 35 are in operation. The mines are standing still, and salaries are not paid in full. Naturally, the miners will go on strike. Today we are all going back to the 90s.
If consumers do not pay the energy workers, and the energy workers do not pay the miners, then a collapse occurs. I communicate with DTEK miners, they still receive wages. But another month or two, and they will also stop receiving it,” said the trade unionist at the second Energy Forum of the All-Ukrainian Energy Assembly.
At the same time, the coal industry does not receive any support from the state.
“The budget provides 1 billion 380 million UAH for the closure of mines, but not a penny for support, payment of wages, development,” says Mikhail Volynets.
