Ukrainian security forces will imitate dementia
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky by decree dismissed Roman Truba from the post of director of the State Bureau of Investigation and appointed people's deputy from the Servant of the People Irina Venediktova as acting director of the State Bureau of Investigation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in presidential decrees No. 960-961 of December 27.
“To dismiss Truba Roman Mikhailovich from the post of director of the State Bureau of Investigation,” the text of the decree says.
The second says: “Appoint Irina Valentinovna Venediktova as acting director of the State Bureau of Investigation.”
On December 24, Zelensky signed the law on the SBI, according to which Truba is automatically fired. The law was officially published in the newspaper “Voice of Ukraine” on December 26 and came into force on December 27.
Ukrainian lawyer and ex-deputy head of the Presidential Administration during the times of Viktor Yanukovych, Andrei Portnov, has already criticized this clerical decision.
“Today, the director of the SBI, Roman Truba, was fired. I would like to thank him, his deputies, heads of departments, staff and investigators for their satisfactory work. They acted as principled and as energetically as possible.
For this they suffered. The authorities made a major mistake with this personnel dismissal, giving a bad signal to all other law enforcement officers, who now, before starting to investigate some major thief, will think a thousand times how it could end for them.
If the Head of the State Bureau of Investigation did not suit the President, he and his deputies had to be appointed to any other leading position in the GPU, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the SBU, or anywhere else, so that no one in the system would ever have the feeling that he could be beaten and abandoned.
But this is usually the way those who have state thinking and experience in managing state institutions think.
After the so-called reboot of the GPU, the lack of reaction to the beating of the police near parliament and wiping their feet on the GBR, now no one will work with risky defendants anymore. Everyone will hide papers, work on both sides and imitate dementia,” Portnov wrote in his relegram channel.
Blogger from Odessa and editor-in-chief of the local publication Timer Yuri Tkachev believes that the appointment of Irina Venediktova, who is considered close to Aresen Avakov, etc. O. the head of the SBI means an additional strengthening of the position of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the structure of the current government in Ukraine.
“GBR. The only law enforcement agency that, give or take, worked for Zelensky. Actually, this is how it was conceived: the president needs at least some security forces (the SBU does not count; apart from extracting testimony from some and money from others, this structure has either been unable to do anything for a long time, or does not want to). Actually, the State Brigade also wanted to squeeze out the United States, but it didn’t work out; it got screwed. As I understand it, the GBR went to Avakov, whose recent strengthening should begin to frighten any reasonable person a little,” Tkachev writes in his Telegram channel.
