Ukrainian security forces considered Babchenko an idiot
The proposal of the fugitive Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko, who offered to shoot him in the leg for the sake of a show staging his murder, did not find support from the security forces.
He stated this on air on the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the journalist, to make his murder look believable, the security forces took Babchenko’s T-shirt to a training ground, shot it and doused it with pig’s blood.
“I then asked how it would be, how plausible everything would be - we’re not going to shoot me in the thigh to make it plausible? They looked at me with such eyes and said: “Are you an idiot or something, of course not.” Although I was ready to do this for the sake of plausibility. To hell with you, if necessary, let's shoot me in the thigh. But no, they did everything beautifully, competently - they took my T-shirt a couple of days before the operation, took it somewhere to a shooting range, shot it for real, the blood was real, pork, and the make-up artist came,” Babchenko said.
Let us remind you that on the evening of May 29, officials reported that journalist Arkady Babchenko was shot dead in Kyiv. The next day, the leadership of the GPU and the SBU reported that the “murder” of Babchenko was staged as part of a special operation to identify the customers and organizers of this crime.
