Kyiv, December 14 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov has no problems keeping the situation in the republic under his control, and the number of armed opposition opposing him is too small to pose a serious threat.

Mayrabek Vachagaev, former special representative of Chechen President Aslan Maskhadov in Moscow, spoke about this in an interview with the Kyiv weekly Focus.

“I don’t think Kadyrov has a problem keeping the situation under control,” admits Vachagaev. – There are not so many Chechen militants who consider themselves adherents of the Caucasus Emirate. Those attacking Grozny said: “We are a hundred people, and two hundred more are supporting us.” To put it mildly, I doubt this figure. There can be a maximum of one hundred militants in total. And on December 4, only a few fighters entered Grozny. So I don’t think they can throw those kinds of strikes very often.”
